Since being demoted to Sacramento, Doval has allowed two runs with a 5:1 K:BB over four innings of work. Just one free pass is encouraging to see, as Doval's 13.3 percent walk rate was a major reason why the Giants opted to send him down. When the former closer does rejoin the big-league bullpen, he could work in low-leverage spots initially.

Impact The lefty-hitting McCray has now started in each of the Giants' seven games following his call-up from Triple-A Sacramento last Wednesday, including three matchups with left-handed pitchers. McCray has batted .273 with three extra-base hits (one home run, two doubles) over his first six starts, but a 43.5 percent strikeout rate suggests rougher times could be ahead for the rookie once his .455 BABIP normalizes.

Impact Earlier this month, Encarnacion appeared to have taken hold of a full-time role while dabbling between designated hitter and the corner outfield, but he looks to have moved into a short-side platoon role following Grant McCray's promotion from Triple-A Sacramento last Wednesday. Each of the right-handed-hitting Encarnacion's last three starts have come against left-handed pitching, while he's been excluded from the lineup in each of the Giants' last four matchups with right-handed pitchers.

Impact With the White Sox sending southpaw Garrett Crochet to the bump, the lefty-hitting Wade will give way to the right-handed-hitting Mark Canha at first base in the series finale. Of Wade's 296 plate appearances on the season, only 34 have come against left-handed pitching.

Ryan Walker - Locks down second save Walker picked up his second save of the season in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the White Sox after striking out the side in the ninth inning.
Impact Walker needed just 11 pitches to strike out all three batters he faced in the ninth. He's been nothing short of spectacular since being named the team's new closer Aug. 10, allowing just an unearned run while posting an 11:2 K:BB over five innings. Jordan Hicks picked up the save Monday night and figures to be the fill-in closer whenever Walker is unavailable, but Walker seems to have firm grip on the role for a team who is still in the wild card hunt. The 28-year-old is putting together an incredible season as a whole, posting a 2.07 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 82:15 K:BB in 65.1 innings to go along with two saves, 22 holds and eight wins.

Robbie Ray - Dominates versus White Sox Ray (3-2) got the win over the White Sox on Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits while striking out nine over 6.2 innings.
Impact Ray had one of his best starts since returning from Tommy John surgery. It was his longest outing of the season and also the first time he didn't walk anybody. He also tied his season-high with nine strikeouts and retired 12 of the last 14 batters he faced, including two strikeouts in the seventh before he was eventually pulled with two outs. Ray has certainly shown more good than bad while returning from injury, posting a 4.88 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 39:12 K:BB in 27.2 innings. He lines up to face the Brewers on the road to begin next week for the Giants.

Heliot Ramos - On base three times Ramos went 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.
Impact Ramos walked with the bases loaded in the third and then added on in the fifth with an RBI single. He now has four RBI over his last three games and has at least a hit in six of his last seven games. Ramos also managed to work multiple walks in a game for the first time since June 14 Tuesday night. He continues to provide a spark towards the top of the Giants order, slashing 280/.339/.488 with 18 homers, 60 RBI, 37 runs, four steals and a 31:104 BB:K in 381 plate appearances.

Impact Tibbs, selected 13th overall in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, was assigned to Single-A on Aug. 8 without playing any rookie-league games. He quickly proved himself at San Jose, going 17-for-41 (.415) with four doubles, two RBI and nine runs scored over nine contests.
