J.P. Crawford - Likely to return MondayMariners manager Scott Servais expects Crawford (shoulder) to return Monday for Seattle, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
ImpactCrawford has been out of the lineup with a "soggy" shoulder, but the Mariners have claimed that the injury isn't considered serious, and a return to the lineup Monday would seem to verify those claims. The shortstop's return becomes even more important for Seattle with Dylan Moore (oblique) likely to miss the first few weeks of the year with an oblique strain.

Dylan Moore - Sidelined with oblique strainMoore was diagnosed with a Grade 1 oblique strain and won't be ready for Opening Day, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
ImpactMoore was set to make his Cactus League debut Thursday after recovering from offseason core-muscle surgery, but he was scratched from Seattle's lineup and the imaging revealed the strain. The versatile infielder/outfielder will begin 2023 on the injured list, and he likely won't be able to make his season debut until the middle of April. The injury could open up more playing time for Sam Haggerty, and Mason McCoy could very well be the backup middle-infielder while Ford is out.

Stephen Piscotty - Resumes baseball activityPiscotty (oblique) is back to doing light baseball activity, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.
ImpactThe veteran outfielder will be reevaluated over the weekend and could receive a timetable to return by then. Piscotty had been having a solid spring before his injury, going 7-for-21 at the plate with five RBI and a steal.

Joey Bart - Making most of catcher competitionBart has gone 5-for-16 (.308) with three extra-base hits, two RBI and two runs scored over seven Cactus League games.
ImpactBlake Sabol has earned a lot of attention for his strong hitting and Roberto Perez has been praised for his defensive play behind the plate, so there's still no guarantee Bart breaks camp with the Giants. Since Sabol also has experience in the outfield and is a Rule 5 pick, it's possible the Giants could carry three catchers if Bart makes the team. For his part, Bart has hit well when in the lineup this spring, so it's up to him to finish the exhibition slate strong and force a difficult decision.

Brandon Crawford - Set to resume baseball activitiesCrawford (knee) will resume baseball activities over the weekend, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ImpactCrawford has been battling some left knee soreness for the last several days but appears to be making some progress. He should be able to return to Cactus League action sometime next week, and the Giants anticipate him being ready to play shortstop Opening Day.

Austin Slater - Getting MRI on calfSlater will have an MRI performed on his calf Friday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
ImpactSlater had to be pulled from Thursday's game against Seattle after experiencing cramping in his calf. His injury is thought to be relatively minor, but the test results will provide a more definitive answer. Slater had been sidelined in spring action up until Thursday after being diagnosed with right elbow neuritis a few weeks ago.
