Luis Castillo - Little run support Tuesday Castillo did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Athletics, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out five over seven innings. Impact Castillo only allowed four hits but two of them went for home runs, one by Lawrence Butler in the first inning and another by Seth Brown in the fourth. Castillo has now allowed nine home runs over his last five starts, though Tuesday was his first time reaching seven innings since July 19 and his first quality start since Aug. 11. The 31-year-old righty is putting together another strong campaign, yet the Mariners are 14-15 in his starts, partially due to the fact that they've scored two runs or fewer in 11 of Castillo's outings. For the year, he owns a 3.60 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 172:46 K:BB in 172.1 innings and lines up to face the Cardinals in St. Louis over the weekend.
