Luis Urías - Promoted from Tacoma The Mariners selected Urias' contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Impact Urias has been swinging a hot bat at Tacoma recently, slashing .333/.434/.578 with three homers, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored over 53 plate appearances across his last 12 games. His uptick in production has now been rewarded with a spot on the active roster, though he will have to compete for playing time at third base with Josh Rojas. In corresponding moves, Gabe Speier was optioned to Triple-A, and Terrin Vavra was designated for assignment.
