Impact Haniger finally got his long-awaited rehab assignment kicked off with the AquaSox, and the organization clearly plans to ease him back into action considering he didn't even take a full complement of at-bats as the DH. The veteran is expected to remain with Everett throughout the weekend and then likely take a step up in competition by heading to Triple-A Tacoma early in the coming week. Haniger will also eventually progress to playing in the outfield, although that may not come until he's with the Rainiers.

The 26-year-old has been on injured list all season and hasn't played in an MLB game since May 13, 2021, as his previous campaign was cut short when he required surgery to repair a left hip flexor strain. At this stage, the Mariners likely aren't counting on White being a major contributor in 2022 if and when he's healthy again.

George Kirby - Returning as No. 5 starter The Mariners plan to call up Kirby from Triple-A Tacoma to start Tuesday's home game against the Rangers.

Impact As was anticipated following the Mariners' decision to option him to Tacoma on July 9, Kirby will be rejoining the big club when it first requires a No. 5 starter following the All-Star break. Before the demotion, Kirby had proven his worth as an MLB-caliber starter by supplying a 3.78 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 62:9 K:BB across 64.1 frames, but the Mariners will continue to be mindful of the rookie's workload during his age-24 campaign. Between the Mariners, Tacoma and Double-A Arkansas, Kirby is up to 91 innings this season, and the organization may not be keen on having him push past the 130-to-140 range in 2022.

Impact Rodriguez was scratched from Friday's lineup shortly before first pitch due to left wrist soreness. The 21-year-old jammed his wrist while sliding back into second base during Sunday's matchup against the Rangers and has been monitored since then. He didn't feel right after receiving treatment and taking batting practice Friday, so he was held out as a precautionary measure. However, manager Scott Servais didn't sound too concerned about Rodriguez's injury following the game.

The 27-year-old outfielder hit .261 with five home runs, 12 RBI, eight runs scored and a 6:6 BB:K in 10 contests during his rehab assignment, so he shouldn't need much time to find his timing at the plate. Friday was Lewis' fifth major-league contest this season, but he's already hit two homers in 20 plate appearances and should see regular playing time in right field if he can stay healthy.
