Julio Rodríguez - Removed early Saturday Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in the second inning, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Impact Rodriguez never made a plate appearance Saturday, and it's not immediately apparent why he had to come out of the game, but the Mariners should offer some more clarity soon. In the meantime, Luke Raley will move out to center field while Ty France mans first base.

Impact Zavala was selected to the active roster Tuesday to provide additional depth behind the plate, and he'll now be pushed back off the 40-man without appearing in a game for Seattle. The 30-year-old backstop passed through waivers unclaimed when he was DFA'd in June, and it's likely he does so again this time around.

Emerson Hancock - Recalled ahead of start The Mariners recalled Hancock from Triple-A Tacoma to start Saturday's game against Toronto.

Impact Hancock last pitched for the Mariners on June 13, and he has since thrown 9.1 scoreless innings over two starts in Triple-A. He'll be called upon to get the M's through Saturday's contest, though his time in Seattle's rotation will likely only last one start with Bryan Woo (hamstring) nearing a return from the IL. Seby Zavala was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.
