Progressive Field, Cleveland, OH
Rafael Montero - Blown save against ClevelandMontero was tagged with a blown save Saturday against Cleveland after allowing three runs on two hits and two walks across one inning. He didn't strike out anyone.
ImpactMontero entered the bottom of the ninth inning holding a three-run lead and while he retired the first two batters he faced, he also struggled badly when he had to close things out. He allowed back-to-back walks and back-to-back hits to erase the three-run advantage in only a matter of minutes. Montero has now allowed runs in two of his last three appearances.

Yusei Kikuchi - Tosses seven scoreless framesKikuchi didn't factor into the decision Saturday against Cleveland despite tossing seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and three walks while fanning six.
ImpactKikuchi was in line to get the win Saturday until Rafael Montero blew the save in the bottom of the ninth, but that shouldn't hide the fact that the left-hander delivered one of his best performances of the season despite the fact he dealt with a knee problem throughout the week. The Japanese hurler has given up two or fewer runs in three of his last four starts, and he's scheduled to take the mound next week at home against the Rays.

Dylan Moore - Socks solo homerMoore went 2-for-4 with a home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Saturday's loss to Cleveland.
ImpactThe second baseman returned from a stint on the injured list and went deep for the sixth time this season. Even though Moore has hit safely in five of his last seven contests, he continues to hit poorly and remains below the Mendoza line. This multi-hit performance only boosted to average to a meager .179 mark.

Jake Fraley - Launches two-run shotFraley went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Saturday's loss against Cleveland.
ImpactFraley made his presence felt with a two-run shot in the third inning, and now he has three long balls on the year. The left fielder has hit safely in six of the Mariners' last seven games.

Paul Sewald - Gives up game-winning runSewald (2-2) failed to record an out and was tagged with the loss Saturday against Cleveland after giving up a run and a walk Saturday against Cleveland.
ImpactSewald entered the bottom of the 10th inning with a 4-4 tie and an automatic runner in second base, and his outing didn't boost Seattle's chances of earning the victory -- he allowed a single to Amed Rosario and walked Jose Ramirez to load the bases with no outs. In fact, an error from Sewald himself allowed Harold Ramirez to score on a fielder's choice. As a result of his woeful outing, Sewald ended a streak of four straight scoreless appearances.

James Karinchak - Earns win in reliefKarinchak (3-2) earned the win in relief Saturday against the Mariners after tossing a scoreless inning, fanning two.
ImpactKarinchak entered the game in the 10th inning after Cleveland scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth, and he carried that momentum into the mound -- he tossed eight of his 13 pitches for strikes and retired the side in order despite having a runner at second the whole time due to the new extra-innings rule. The right-hander has posted three straight scoreless outings and lowered his ERA to 2.67 as a result.

Triston McKenzie - Walks four in short outingMcKenzie didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Mariners and tossed just 0.2 innings, allowing one run and walking four. He didn't strike out anyone.
ImpactMcKenzie was promoted to the big club following a strong start with Triple-A Columbus on June 6, but he entered this game with a 7.56 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 36:21 K:BB in 25 innings over six previous starts with Cleveland last month. This was far from his best start due to massive command issues, and while he improved his ERA to 6.38, he didn't look comfortable on the mound. As things stand now, it remains to be seen whether he'll have another shot in the rotation any time soon.
