Shelby Miller - Earns the win ThursdayMiller (6-7) tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win in Thursday's 2-1 victory over the Mariners. He struck out one.

ImpactMiller got Jorge Polanco to fly out to end the top of the seventh inning, then pitched a clean eighth inning to ultimately pick up the win out of the bullpen. The veteran righty has had a few meltdowns this season, which has led to an ugly 5.36 ERA overall, but the Tigers still seem to trust him in high-leverage spots. That role gives Miller some value in deeper fantasy formats, though his volatility has made him hard to trust this year.

ImpactBaez put Detroit on the board in the eighth inning with his sixth home run of the year. While the six long balls would be his fewest in a season since 2015, the shortstop has gone deep twice in his last three games and five times over his last 16 contests. It's mostly been a lost season for Baez, but this recent power surge could at least prop up his fantasy value during the stretch run if he's able to keep it going.

ImpactThe 2022 No. 12 overall pick started the season with Toledo, where he is slashing .257/.377.454 with 14 home runs and 60 RBI across 414 plate appearances. Jung began his transition from second base to third in the Arizona Fall League last season, and he could be utilized in both positions with Detroit, per Petzold. Jung's first dose of major-league pitching will be a tough one, as he is slated to go up against Yankees' ace Gerrit Cole.

ImpactMaeda's certainly shown improvement since he started working in bulk relief -- he's posted a 2.84 ERA across 19 innings in his last four appearances. Overall, the veteran right-hander is 2-5 with a 6.18 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 71:25 K:BB across 90.1 innings this year. Maeada's currently slated to start next week on the road versus the Cubs, though he could work behind an opener again due to his recent success.

Jason Foley - Picks up 16th saveFoley earned the save in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Mariners, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

ImpactIt's the first save for Foley in over a month and his first opportunity since July 12, when he allowed a run in a loss to the Dodgers. While Foley struggled to close out July, he's been pitching better since the start of August -- he's now made seven straight appearances (6.2 innings) without allowing an earned run. While the closing job in Detroit appears fluid, Foley is still likely the best bet for saves moving forward. He's converted 16 of 19 save chances this year while posting a 3.48 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and 32:15 K:BB across 44 innings.
