Diego Castillo - MRI brings good resultsThe MRI that Castillo underwent Saturday revealed nothing more than fatigue in his inflamed right shoulder, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
ImpactSince Castillo isn't dealing with any structural damage to his shoulder, the Mariners are optimistic that he'll be ready to return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Aug. 30, or soon after. Until then, the Mariners are likely to turn to Drew Steckenrider and Paul Sewald as their primary options in save scenarios.

Kyle Tucker - Trending toward mid-week returnAstros manager Dusty Baker said Sunday that he expects Tucker to return from the COVID-19 injured list "hopefully midweek," Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ImpactBeyond acknowledging that Tucker is feeling fine, Baker hasn't offered up many specifics regarding the outfielder's health since he was placed on the COVID-19-related injured list Aug. 14. Baker's prediction of a mid-week return for Tucker perhaps hints that the 23-year-old will ramp up his on-field activities Monday and Tuesday before potentially drawing back into the Houston lineup for Wednesday's series finale versus the Royals. Tucker had posted a .917 OPS in 24 games since the All-Star break before being deactivated.

José Urquidy - Second rehab start scheduledUrquidy (shoulder) is scheduled to make a rehab start Tuesday at Triple-A Sugar Land, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ImpactOut since late June with right shoulder soreness, Urquidy received the green light to move on to the final phase of his recovery program Thursday, when he tossed three innings while making his first rehab start in the rookie-level Florida Complex League. He's expected to cover around five innings Tuesday for Sugar Land, and if all goes well, Urquidy will make one final start at Triple-A on Aug. 29 before rejoining the Astros during the first week of September. Once Urquidy is back with the big club, the Astros could expand their rotation to six men to afford additional rest between starts for rookie Luis Garcia.

Alex Bregman - Zeroing in on returnAstros general manager James Click said that Bregman (hamstring/quadriceps) will appear in another rehab game for Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chroni...
ImpactBregman initially began the rehab assignment July 26 and appeared in seven games for the affiliate before being mysteriously shut down Aug. 7. After a nearly two-week layoff, Bregman returned to action Friday for Sugar Land and went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI while playing seven innings at third base. Houston could look to have Bregman play a full game in the field Monday, and if all goes well, he could make his return from the 10-day injured list as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday. Bregman has been on the IL since June 17 with a strained quadriceps before picking up a right hamstring injury earlier in the rehab assignment.
