This removes the backstop from the 40-man roster, and the Angels used that room to select the contract of Gerardo Reyes from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

ImpactJoyce is currently undergoing an MRI to determine the severity of his injury, but the right-hander will miss at least two-plus weeks with the injury. In his place, the Angels have selected the contract of Gerardo Reyes from Triple-A Salt Lake.

ImpactMiller was scheduled to face the Angels on Sunday, but the Mariners will now have the rookie right-hander face off against Miami at home with Logan Gilbert now starting in his place. Miller has been shelled in his last two starts, so it's not surprising to see Seattle give him an extra day of rest and also give Gilbert an added start made possible by having Thursday off.

ImpactGilbert was scheduled to start Monday versus the Marlins with Bryce Miller scheduled for Sunday against the Angels, but the two will switch spots in the Seattle rotation. It's made possible by the Mariners having Thursday off, so Gilbert will be pitching on regular rest in the series finale versus the Halos.

ImpactJoyce is not on the lineup card for Saturday's game versus Seattle, so it's likely he'll be placed on the injured list regardless of the results. The right-hander left Friday's appearance without getting an out while dealing with hand irritation and numbness in his fingers. Gerardo Reyes has been recalled from Triple-A to take Joyce's place on the roster.
