Zack Britton - Faces live hittersBritton (elbow) threw to live hitters at the Yankees' spring training complex in Florida on Wednesday, per the Associated Press.
ImpactThis was a significant step in Britton's journey to pitch for the Yankees this season, as it was his first time facing live hitters since undergoing surgery to repair the UCL in his left elbow last September. The left-hander will likely need to face live hitters a few more times before a minor-league rehab assignment is considered. If all goes well moving forward, Britton could return to the Yankees in September.

Kyle Higashioka - Homers in lossHigashioka went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a double in Wednesday's loss to Seattle.
ImpactThe Yankees weren't able to muster much offense in the contest, so Higashioka's seventh-inning two-run shot made only a small dent in a big Seattle lead. Nonetheless, it was a positive development for the catcher, whose previous homer came nearly a month ago. Higashioka has six long balls on the season, four of which came during a four-game stretch in mid-June.

Julio Rodríguez - Angling for minimum-length IL stayMariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said Thursday that Rodriguez (wrist) is about six days out from returning from the 10-day injured list, Maura Dooley of Seattle Sports 710 AM...
ImpactAssuming Rodriguez continues to progress from his bruised right wrist as the Mariners anticipate, that six-day timeline would put the All-Star outfielder on track to come off the injured list when first eligible next Wednesday, when the team wraps up a series with the Yankees. Dylan Moore (back) is also trending toward a return from the 10-day injured list in the middle of next week, while Mitch Haniger (ankle) could be activated from the 60-day IL as soon as this weekend. The Mariners will thus soon have their outfield back to full strength as they look to chase down one of the American League's three available wild-card spots.

Mitch Haniger - Should return within one weekMariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said Thursday that Haniger (ankle) should return from the 60-day injured list within the next week, Maura Dooley of Seattle Sports 710 AM repo...
ImpactDipoto didn't seem to close the door on Haniger being activated for Friday's series opener with the Angels, but the Mariners plan to leave it up to the 31-year-old to tell them when he feels ready to return. Haniger hasn't suffered any setbacks with his right ankle during his ongoing 10-game minor-league rehab assignment that has included stops at High-A Everett and Triple-A Tacoma. Though he's hit .250 in those contests, Haniger has smacked three home runs and has walked more often (seven times) than he's struck out (five times).
