Seth Brown - Posts seventh stealBrown went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Mariners.
ImpactBrown recorded his steal in the seventh inning, which was his third stolen base in as many attempts in June. He's struggled a bit at the plate this month, going 14-for-65 (.215) in his last 18 contests, though that's right in line with his .212 average for the season. The 29-year-old has added a .690 OPS, nine home runs, 32 RBI, 21 runs scored, 11 doubles and two triples through 228 plate appearances. He'll likely continue to see regular time in left and at first base, though he may sit against the occasional left-handed pitcher.

A.J. Puk - Sloppy in blown savePuk allowed two inherited runners to score on two walks and two wild pitches, taking a blown save in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Mariners.
ImpactWhile the runs and the loss went on Zach Jackson's line, Puk was very clearly responsible. Both walks and wild pitches he gave up came with two outs, and the southpaw's struggles are highlighted by the fact he threw only seven of 17 pitches for strikes. Through nine outings in June, Puk has allowed three runs, seven hits, three hit batters and two walks in 8.2 innings. He still has a 1.91 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 28.1 innings overall, but the shaky showing Thursday wasn't a great first audition for more save chances with Dany Jimenez (shoulder) on the injured list.

Zach Jackson - Takes loss ThursdayJackson (1-2) was charged with two runs on two walks and one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss Thursday versus the Mariners.
ImpactAfter eight innings of two-hit ball from starter Frankie Montas, Jackson ran into trouble in the ninth. He put two batters aboard with walks before A.J. Puk entered the game, and it was Puk who walked two more and threw two wild pitches to allow both inherited runners to score. The loss will go on Jackson's ledger, and both of his defeats this year have been in the only two appearances in which he's allowed multiple runs. The 27-year-old reliever has a 3.90 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 39:23 K:BB across 27.2 innings, though he's also picked up 12 holds as a high-leverage option in the Athletics' closer committee.

Frankie Montas - Takes no-hit bid into eighthMontas allowed two hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over eight shutout innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Thursday.
ImpactMontas got through 7.1 no-hit innings before allowing two-out singles to Adam Frazier and Luis Torrens. In the ninth, Zach Jackson and A.J. Puk combined to walk four batters, which combined with two wild pitches to waste Montas' gem of a start. The right-hander had one of his worst outings of the year last week versus the Royals, so it was encouraging to see him bounce back quickly. He has a 3.21 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 92:22 K:BB through 89.2 innings in 15 starts this year. He's projected for a tough road start versus the Yankees next week.
