Ramón Laureano - Picks up third stealLaureano went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Mariners.
ImpactLaureano has gone 6-for-19 (.316) over five games since returning from a groin strain. His steal Thursday was his first theft in that span and his third of the season, and he's yet to be caught stealing. The outfielder is up to a .243/.309/.419 slash line with two home runs, four RBI, six runs scored, five doubles and a triple through 20 contests this season.

JJ Bleday - Goes yard in lossBleday went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Mariners.
ImpactBleday opened the scoring with a second-inning blast off Mariners starter George Kirby. After going 0-for-4 in his season debut Wednesday, Bleday showed off some of that power that got him on the radar for a recall -- he had seven homers and 19 RBI in 25 games with Triple-A Las Vegas. He doesn't yet have a clear path to everyday playing time, but he could force the issue if he hits well.

Drew Rucinski - Struggles again ThursdayRucinski (0-2) allowed five runs on four hits and five walks while striking out three over 3.2 innings, taking the loss Thursday versus the Mariners.
ImpactRucinski opened with a pair of scoreless innings, but Taylor Trammell hit a two-run home run off the right-hander in the third. Rucinski then created a mess and allowed three runs in the fourth. The 34-year-old had a hamstring injury to start the season, and he hasn't shown much in his first two starts with a 7.71 ERA, 2.25 WHIP and 4:6 K:BB through 9.1 innings. If he gets another turn in the rotation, he's tentatively projected for a road start versus the Yankees next week.

Taylor Trammell - Homers, drives in threeTrammell went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.
ImpactTrammell's two-run blast put the Mariners ahead briefly in the third inning. He also drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 3-3 in the fourth. Over four games since he was activated from the injured list following a hand injury, he's gone 2-for-8 with two homers, seven RBI, two walks and three strikeouts. Trammell continues to serve as a reserve option, primarily seeing time in left field when he plays, but Jarred Kelenic is likely to see most of the games there once Julio Rodriguez gets back into center field.

Paul Sewald - Clean inning for saveSewald struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.
ImpactSewald needed just 10 pitches (seven strikes) to lock down his ninth save of the season. His scoreless streak is up to four innings, and he has a 2.65 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 22:4 K:BB through 17 innings this season. Sewald will likely remain unchallenged for closing duties until Andres Munoz (shoulder) returns from the injured list.

George Kirby - Earns third winKirby (3-2) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out two over seven innings to earn the win Thursday over the Athletics.
ImpactIt was a fifth straight quality start for Kirby, who bounced back from a tough-luck loss in his last outing versus the Phillies. While it was a solid performance, the two strikeouts were a season low for the right-hander. He's at a solid 3.11 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 26:3 K:BB across 37.2 innings over six starts, again displaying excellent control. Kirby's next start is projected to be at home versus the Rangers next week.
