Gabe Speier - Heading to Triple-ASpeier was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
ImpactThe left-hander was claimed off waivers by the Mariners in November and will debut for the organization at the Triple-A level. Speier had a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB over 19.1 innings with Kansas City last year, so he could certainly work his way into Seattle's bullpen mix at some point in 2023.

Casey Sadler - Sent to minors campThe Mariners reassigned Sadler (shoulder) to minor-league camp Sunday.
ImpactSadler was one of the majors' top relievers in 2021 after producing a 0.67 ERA and 0.72 WHIP in 40.1 innings out of the Seattle bullpen, but his future in the big leagues is in flux while he works his way back from the right shoulder surgery he underwent last March. The 32-year-old has resumed mound work and could soon be ready to face hitters, but he may still be a couple weeks away from reporting to a minor-league affiliate to test himself in a game setting.

Colin Moran - Denied Opening Day roster spotThe Mariners reassigned Moran to minor-league camp Sunday.
ImpactUnless the 30-year-old corner infielder and the Mariners agree to mutually part ways so he can pursue opportunities in another organization, Moran is expected to report to Triple-A Tacoma to begin the 2023 campaign. Moran spent the 2022 season in Cincinnati, slashing .211/.305/.376 in 128 plate appearances at the big-league level.
MARCH 26, 2023ROTOWIRE
Brian O'Keefe - Sent to MiLB campThe Mariners reassigned O'Keefe to minor-league camp Sunday.
ImpactO'Keefe made his big-league debut with Seattle at 29 years old in 2022, appearing in two games for the club. He was non-tendered after the season and brought back on a minor-league deal, but O'Keefe is unlikely to get another look in Seattle unless the team's catching depth is seriously tested in 2023.

Alex Cobb - Minor-league game on tapCobb (knee) is slated to pitch in a minor-league game Monday on the back fields of Giants camp, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
ImpactCobb's bruised knee apparently responded well to his bullpen session Saturday, so he'll likely aim to get at least a few innings under his belt Monday as he aims to avoid a stint on the injured list to begin the 2023 season. If Cobb checks out fine following Monday's outing, he could be cleared to make a start in New York next weekend in the Giants' season-opening series with the Yankees.

Mitch Haniger - Beginning season on shelfGiants manager Gabe Kapler confirmed Sunday that Haniger (oblique) will open the season on the 10-day injured list, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
ImpactAustin Slater (hamstring) and Luis Gonzalez (back) are also ticketed for the IL, leaving the Giants light on outfield depth to begin the 2023 campaign. Haniger hasn't played in a Cactus League game since March 4 due to the Grade 1 oblique strain, but he resumed throwing and hitting last week and may not require an extended ramp-up period if he can avoid any setbacks during his rehab program. At least for the time being, the 32-year-old is still projected to be ready to make his Giants debut in early-to-mid-April.
