ImpactThe move makes room on the Mariners' roster for right-handed reliever Gregory Santos (biceps), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list. Diaz has made two appearances for the big club since being recalled Sept. 1, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three over 3.1 scoreless innings.

Gregory Santos - Activated from ILThe Mariners reinstated Santos (biceps) from the 15-day injured list Monday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

ImpactSantos had been on the injured list since Aug. 2 due to right biceps inflammation. He began his rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma in early September, and across six outings he allowed one run on two hits and seven walks while striking out six across 5.1 frames. Santos has joined the Mariners in Houston and will operate out of the bullpen as Seattle makes a final push for a wild-card spot. To make room on the big-league roster for Santos, left-hander Jhonathan Diaz was optioned to the Mariners' Spring Training Complex.

Josh Jung - Being shut down for seasonThe Rangers are expected to place Jung (wrist) on the 10-day injured list, ending his season, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

ImpactJung hasn't played since last Wednesday due to recurring discomfort in his surgically repaired right wrist. He is scheduled to be seen by a hand specialist Thursday in hopes of getting a better handle on the injury. Ezequiel Duran has started three of the last four games at third base and should continue to be the primary guy there in the final week. The Rangers are expected to promote either Dustin Harris or Sam Huff to take Jung's roster spot.
