Alec Burleson - Back in action Burleson (ankle) is batting eighth and playing right field in Saturday's Grapefruit League game versus the Astros.

Impact Burleson had ankle discomfort that kept him out of action for a couple of days, but he's moved past it. The 24-year-old outfielder can now resume his pursuit of a backup role in the Cardinals' outfield. He's batting .250 (4-for-16) with two RBI, three runs scored and a 4:4 BB:K through seven Grapefruit League games entering Saturday.

Jordan Walker - Precautionary exit Walker exited Saturday's game against the Astros for precautionary reasons, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Impact Walker has been one of the top stories of camp, hitting .478/.478/.826 with three home runs through 11 spring games. While he's yet to play above Double-A, he seems to have a legitimate shot to break camp in the big leagues. Even a minor injury could send him to Triple-A to complete his spring build-up at the start of the season, though for now, Walker has avoided a specific injury diagnosis. He stayed down for several seconds after a head-first slide into second base in the first inning and did not take the field for the next frame, instead walking to the clubhouse with a team trainer.

Impact Hudson had a rough 2022, coming back from Tommy John surgery and struggling to a career-worst 4.45 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 139.2 innings. He was briefly demoted to Triple-A Memphis late in the season and also saw time as a reliever, which remains a possibility for 2023 as well as Hudson is currently projected as the Cardinals' sixth starter. He's done reasonably well through two Grapefruit League appearances, allowing one earned run on seven hits and two walks, though he's logged just one strikeout over five innings.
