Edmundo Sosa - Homers in win Sosa went 2-for-4 with a single, a homer and two runs scored in Wednesday's 11-4 win over the Mets. He also drew a walk.
Impact Sosa went oppo for his sixth home run of the season, driving a ball into the bullpen at Citi Field off Heath Hembree. The infielder has had a scalding finish to the summer, as he's hitting .344 since Aug. 1. His numbers certainly indicate someone worthy of a move up in the batting order, and manager Mike Shildt seemingly agrees. In August, Sosa's average batting order position in games that he started was 7.47. Thus far in September, it's 6.78.

Nolan Arenado - Homers in win Arenado went 2-for-4 with a single, a homer and two RBI in Wednesday's 11-4 win over the Mets. He also drew a walk.
Impact Arenado pushed his hit streak to five with a solid performance against the Mets. He bashed a solo homer off Seth Lugo in the seventh inning before plating the Cardinals' final run of the night with a single in the eighth. As St. Louis continues its charge for a playoff spot, Arenado has picked up his power numbers. The third baseman has already hit six homers in September, which matches his round-tripper total from August.

Impact Goldschmidt fell a three-bagger shy of the cycle Wednesday but nonetheless racked up some impressive numbers. The 34-year-old has absolutely killed the Mets this season, as he's hit .370 with three home runs in seven games against New York.

Impact Bader plated two runs with a bloop single in the first inning before socking his 12th home run of the year off Tylor Megill in the fourth. After hitting a woeful .152 with zero homers in August, the outfielder is batting .308 in September with three long balls.

Jon Lester - Picks up quality start Lester (6-6) allowed two earned runs on six hits and no walks with seven strikeouts over six innings, picking up the win in Wednesday's 11-4 victory over the Mets.
Impact Lester was staked to a 5-0 lead before entering the game Wednesday night and cruised to career win No. 199. His seven strikeouts tied his season high and are the most he's had since joining the Cardinals at the trade deadline. Though he did give up a pair of home runs to Pete Alonso and Kevin Pillar, they both came with the bases empty. Over his last five starts, the 37-year-old has been vintage Lester, carrying a 2-0 record with a 2.12 ERA.

Alex Reyes - Grabs eighth win Tuesday Reyes (8-8) was credited with the win in an extra-innings victory over the Mets on Tuesday, firing a scoreless 10th inning during which he issued a walk.
Impact Reyes continued trending in the right direction with another strong outing Tuesday, one that saw him get his three outs on an efficient 13 pitches. The right-hander has settled into a nice groove as more of a setup option of late, generating four straight scoreless appearances and six in his last eight trips to the mound overall.
