Scores three more times in win Marte went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored in Tuesday's 14-8 win over Atlanta.

Impact Marte reached four straight times after grounding out in his first at-bat, as he singled twice, walked and was hit by a pitch. The 32-year-old plated Miguel Rojas with his first hit of the day in the second inning and then proceeded to cross home in the fourth, sixth and seventh with the Marlins scoring at will off almost every pitcher they saw for Atlanta. Marte has been locked in at the plate over the last three games with a slash line of .417/.533/.500 and has driven in one RBI while scoring six runs over that span.

Raking so far in March Marte has gone 9-for-27 (.333) through 11 Grapefruit League games with a 2:4 BB:K and two stolen bases on two attempts.

Impact The 32-year-old hasn't gone yard yet, but Marte has lashed two doubles and two triples. He's set as the Marlins' Opening Day center fielder, and he'll be looking to put together a big campaign with free agency looming next winter. Marte hasn't hit below .275 in any of the last eight seasons, and his OPS has fallen below .770 only once during that stretch, giving him an exceptionally stable floor for fantasy purposes.

Back in Miami in 2021 The Marlins informed Marte (hand) on Wednesday that they will exercise his $12.5 million team option for 2021, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Team CEO Derek Jeter told the media earlier this month that he hoped to retain Marte through the upcoming season, so the Marlins' decision to pick up the outfielder's affordable option comes as little surprise. Though he was sidelined for the Marlins' NLDS loss to the Braves after fracturing his left hand, Marte is expected to be back to full strength well in advance of spring training. Between his stops in Arizona and Miami in 2020, the 32-year-old proved he was still a capable bat near the top of the lineup, slashing .281/.340/.430 with six home runs and 10 stolen bases over 61 games.
