Impact Marte fractured his left hand in the Marlins' postseason opener against the Cubs on Sept. 30 and sat out the series-clinching win two days later. Despite the severity of his injury, Marte apparently won't require surgery to address the fractured hand, leaving the door open for him to play for the rest of the Marlins' playoff run. When he'll be ready to hit again is more of a question mark, so even if Marte is included on the NLDS roster, he may largely be limited to pinch running and defensive duty.

Suffers fractured hand Marte suffered a fractured left hand during Wednesday's Game 1 win against the Cubs but is still considered day-to-day, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Marte's X-ray revealed a non-displaced fracture of his left pinky finger, but there's still hope that he could play through the injury. As a result, he's still considered day-to-day by the Marlins for now. If Marte misses time, Magneuris Sierra and Monte Harrison should take over in center field.

Impact Miami has yet to release its lineup for the postseason opener, but Marte will presumably start in center field and bat second, just as he did in all 27 of his games with the Marlins after coming over from the Diamondbacks in an Aug. 31 trade. Marte exited early in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Yankees after being drilled on the left side of his helmet by a pitch, but he avoided a concussion and escaped with an ear contusion. He shouldn't face any limitations for the duration of the Marlins' playoff run.
