Corey Kluber - Fans seven in win Kluber (5-5) earned the win Tuesday over Boston, striking out seven in six innings while allowing two runs on four hits and a walk.
Impact Kluber faced the minimum through the first four innings, striking out five and eliminating the lone baserunner on a double-play ball. After allowing two singles, he gave up a two-run triple to Bobby Dalbec with two outs in the fifth. The seven strikeouts were his most in a start since recording eight in a game May 16. Should he get another start before the All-Star break, it would be Sunday against Baltimore.

Impact The team will wait and see how Zunino responds to treatment over the next few days before determining the next course of action for the catcher, who was initially placed on the injured list June 10 with a left shoulder injury. More than a month later, Zunino has yet to resume baseball activities, so he doesn't look as though he'll be ready to come off the IL immediately following the All-Star break even if the recent treatment he received yields the desired effect.

Rays manager Kevin Cash likely viewed Tuesday as a good opportunity to give the lefty-hitting Lowe a day off with a tough southpaw (Chris Sale) on the mound for Boston.

Impact Aranda drew his first start since being recalled Sunday, and he played second base while hitting fourth. The Rays have a lot of positional flexibility along their infield, but Aranda should be able to find regular playing time between second base and shortstop in the short term with both Wander Franco (wrist) and Brandon Lowe (back) sidelined. Once Lowe is activated -- which could come as early as Friday -- Aranda will vie for playing time at shortstop with Yu Chang and Taylor Walls.
