Luke Bard - Called up from Durham Bard was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Impact The right-hander was sent down by Tampa Bay on Tuesday but will rejoin the active roster two days later after Shane Baz (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list. Bard has served as a multi-inning relief option for the Rays this year and has posted a 1.00 ERA and 0.78 WHIP in nine innings over five appearances. Bard hasn't pitched since Monday, so he could be an option to pitch multiple innings Friday against the Orioles since Baz won't be able to make his scheduled start.

Impact Even if he's cleared to resume throwing following the four-week shutdown, Baz will likely need at least a couple weeks to get ramped back up for game action, so fantasy managers probably shouldn't count on the right-hander making his way back from the IL until at least early September. That reality likely makes Baz a comfortable drop in most redraft leagues, and his injury could prompt the Rays to explore acquiring another starting pitcher prior to the Aug. 2 trade deadline. After opening the season on the IL while recovering from arthroscopic surgery on the same elbow, Baz debuted June 11 and produced a 5.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB in 27 innings before succumbing to another elbow-related setback.

Colin Poche - Secures sixth save Poche earned a save against the Red Sox on Wednesday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he allowed one hit and struck out one batter.

Impact Poche inherited a three-run ninth-inning lead and worked around a one-out single to collect his first save since June 22. The southpaw leads the team with six saves on the campaign, but four other Rays relievers have notched at least three thus far. As such, Poche isn't the most reliable source of saves in fantasy, though he's more valuable in leagues that count holds -- he has 10 on the campaign and has posted a 1.88 ERA and 0.98 WHIP over 28.2 innings.

Shane McClanahan - Notches 10th win McClanahan (10-3) earned the win over Boston on Wednesday, pitching 6.1 innings and allowing one run on three hits and no walks while striking out six.

Impact McClanahan was quite efficient in the outing, throwing 57 of 85 pitches for strikes. His only troublesome inning was the fifth, when he allowed the first two batters he faced to reach base via singles. The Red Sox got only one run out of the frame, however, and they couldn't manage anything else against McClanahan and three Rays relievers. The southpaw lowered his season ERA to 1.71 with the dominant performance, and that mark now ranks first in the majors following a rare poor outing by previous leader Tony Gonsolin on the same night. McClanahan also leads the league with a 0.80 WHIP and 147 strikeouts, and he is one of only five pitchers to have reached 10 victories thus far.
