J.P. Feyereisen - Picks up first save Feyereisen retired the side in order and earned the save in a 4-2 win Sunday over the Yankees.

Impact Feyereisen needed just five pitches to retire the bottom three batters in the Yankees lineup. It was the first time he was allowed to close out a game all season. The 29-year-old has been stellar, allowing no earned runs and only nine baserunners while striking out 25 in 22 innings. He's primarily appeared in the seventh and eighth innings but with his dominance and the Rays' closer committee, it's possible he could see more opportunities to earn saves.

Shane McClanahan - Punches out seven McClanahan (5-2) earned the win, striking out seven batters in six innings while allowing a run on seven hits in a 4-2 win Sunday against the Yankees.

Impact McClanahan navigated trouble throughout the game but managed to limit the damage to a solo shot by Gleyber Torres. Three times the first two batters of an inning reached safely but the southpaw was able to get timely strikeouts and induce ground balls to limit the scoring of the potent Yankees' offense. For the month of May, he was lights out with a 1.15 ERA and a 39:5 K:BB in 31.1 innings, never allowing more than two runs in a start. He'll likely begin June with a start next weekend against the White Sox.

Impact Coming out of spring training, Edwards was assigned to Double-A Montgomery and placed on the IL due to a shoulder impingement, but he ended up making his 2022 debut at Triple-A, presumably because Durham's infield depth has been tested with Taylor Walls, Isaac Paredes and Vidal Brujan all having been recently moved up to the big-league roster. In addition to the aforementioned three players, the Rays also have another middle-infield prospect in Jonathan Aranda at Triple-A, and since he possesses a 40-man roster spot, he'll likely be in line for a promotion to the big leagues before Edwards, who isn't on the 40-man roster.

Curtis Mead - Back in action at Double-A Mead (illness) has gone 2-for-9 with a walk in his two games for Double-A Montgomery since being reinstated from the affiliate's COVID-19-related injured list Thursday.

Impact Mead missed just under two weeks of action after testing positive for the virus in mid-May. The 21-year-old corner infielder has been a standout performer for Montgomery in 2022, slashing .286/.386/.496 with four home runs and a stolen base.

Harold Ramírez - Sitting in second straight Ramirez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Impact Before heading to the bench for Saturday's 3-1 win, Ramirez had started in each of the Rays' last nine games. However, with all of the team's key position players back to full health with the exception of Brandon Lowe (back), Ramirez looks as though he'll find himself out of the lineup against right-handed pitching more often than not.

Randy Arozarena - Getting breather Sunday Arozarena is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Impact Having started in every game for the Rays since April 28, Arozarena was well overdue for a day off. Manuel Margot will slide over to cover left field in place of Arozarena, who has been one of the Rays' hottest hitters of late with a 1.113 OPS over his last eight starts.

Impact Mejia was behind the dish to make his fourth start in the team's last nine games. He delivered a double in the seventh inning and ultimately came around to score. The effort marked Mejia's first multi-hit game since May 6, the day he was activated from the COVID-19 injured list. Since, he has hit just .171 with three RBI and three runs scored across 13 games. Overall, Mejia has a .263/.259/.421 line across 58 plate appearances on the season.

Wander Franco - Another extra-base knock Franco went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk and a run scored Saturday against the Yankees.

Impact Franco struck out in each of his first two at-bats but led off the eighth inning with a triple before coming around to score. He's shown a concerning lack of power in May -- he entered Saturday with just a .247 slugging percentage across 85 at-bats in the month -- but he now has two doubles and a triple across his last four games. That's not enough to completely alleviate concerns regarding his recent struggles, though it appears that he is finding his swing again. Overall, Franco has maintained a .263/.293/.421 line across 181 plate appearances.

Colin Poche - Converts second save Poche threw a perfect ninth inning Saturday to earn the save in a 3-1 win over the Yankees.

Impact Poche got Joey Gallo to pop up and then induced groundouts from DJ LeMahieu and Aaron Judge, escaping the inning in 13 pitches. After starting the year well, Poche has received and converted the Rays' last two save opportunities. He's posted a 1.20 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB while adding seven holds in 16 appearances spanning 15 innings. It's unclear if he'll continue to get ninth-inning looks over Brooks Raley, but Poche is firmly in the high-leverage mix.

Corey Kluber - Bounces back in no-decision Kluber allowed a run on three hits and struck out five in six innings versus the Yankees on Saturday. He did not factor in the decision.

Impact Kluber alternated effective and short starts during May, ending the month on a high note with one of his best outings of the year. The only run against him came on an Anthony Rizzo sacrifice fly in the first inning. Kluber has a 4.03 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 42:8 K:BB in 44.2 innings across nine starts this year, but it's a pair of bad games (four runs allowed to the Red Sox on April 22 and eight runs to the Angels on May 10) that have inflated his numbers. He carries a 1-2 record into next week's projected road start versus the Rangers.
