Andrew Kittredge - Struggles continue Kittredge allowed two earned runs on three hits across 0.2 innings Wednesday against the Angels.

Impact Kittredge entered the game in the eighth inning with a two-run lead, but he quickly blew the advantage by surrendering a home run to Taylor Ward. It's not clear whether the Rays were planning for Kittredge to record a six-out save -- he's worked two innings in three appearances this season -- or if he was working as the setup man. Regardless, he has now allowed three earned runs across his last 2.2 innings spanning two outings. Kittredge's overall numbers remain strong as he's maintained a 3.00 ERA and 0.80 WHIP with a 12:1 K:BB across 15 innings. However, he's served up three home runs and may start to cede save chances more regularly to Brooks Raley if his struggles continue.

Vidal Bruján - Extra-inning hero Wednesday Brujan went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Angels.

Impact After going 0-for-3 in regulation, Brujan stepped up in the 10th for the Rays. The rookie ripped his first career extra-base hit into the left-field corner to bring home Kevin Kiermaier for the game-winning run, then swiped third and added an insurance tally on a Harold Ramirez single. Brujan has started two straight games since his promotion Tuesday, one in right field and one at second base, and while he may not have the bat to be an everyday player in the long run, if he can keep contributing with his speed and versatility, Tampa Bay will find playing time for him.

Randy Arozarena - Records fifth steal Arozarena went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Angels.

Impact The 27-year-old has yet to get really hot, but he's finding a way to contribute while trying to lock in his swing. Arozarena is slashing .223/.266/.347 on the season with one homer, five steals, nine RBI and 14 runs through 31 contests, but he is batting .273 (12-for-44) through 11 games in May.

Taylor Walls - Swipes fifth bag Walls went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Angels.

Impact The 25-year-old continues to get regular playing time, primarily at third base, but Walls hasn't been able to do much with it. He's slashing .189/.310/.297 through 87 plate appearances, and while his five steals on the season are useful, they come with only one homer, three RBI and eight runs.

Kevin Kiermaier - Swats third homer Kiermaier went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Angels.

Impact The veteran center fielder took Shohei Ohtani deep in the second inning to get the Rays on the board, then crossed the plate with the winning run on a Vidal Brujan double in the top of the 10th. Kiermaier offers little fantasy utility outside of deep AL-only formats despite playing nearly every day, as he's slashing .179/.238/.348 with three homers, two steals, eight RBI and 10 runs through 27 games.

Brooks Raley - Notches third save Raley walked one and struck out one in a scoreless 10th inning Wednesday to record his third save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Angels.

Impact The Rays' bullpen usage remains as mercurial as ever, but Raley at the very least appears to have earned a place of trust among Kevin Cash's high-leverage crew. The veteran lefty has two saves, a win and a hold in his last four games and has been scored upon in only one of his 11 appearances this season, leaving him with a 1.80 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB through 10 innings.

Shane McClanahan - Brilliant in no-decision McClanahan didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Angels, scattering three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out 11.

Impact The southpaw put together the best start of his young career, tying his career high in strikeouts -- set just two starts prior -- while posting an eye-popping called plus swinging strike rate of 40 percent on his 100 pitches. Unfortunately, Andrew Kittredge promptly coughed up the lead in the eighth inning as soon as McClanahan exited, denying him his third win. The 31-year-old right-hander will be continuing his career in a familiar organization, as he spent the second half of the 2021 season in Tampa Bay after coming over in a mid-season trade with the Orioles. He had gotten off to a rough start over his seven relief appearances with Miami this season, giving up eight earned runs on 10 hits and three walks over 6.2 innings.

Joe Wieland - Joins Rays on MiLB deal Wieland signed a minor-league contract with Tampa Bay on Wednesday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Impact Wieland hasn't pitched at any level since parting ways with the Cubs organization and electing free agency in November, so he'll report to the Rays' spring training facility in Port Charlotte, Fla. to build up his arm. Once he's deemed ready to go, Wieland is expected to settle in the bullpen at Triple-A Durham. The 32-year-old right-hander has previously seen big-league action in parts of four seasons, with his most recent appearance in the majors coming in 2016 with Seattle.
