Jon Gray - Undone by long ballGray (7-5) allowed four earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out eight across 6.1 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Mariners.

ImpactGray wasn't particularly sharp through six innings but still managed to limit the Mariners to one run. However, he came undone in the seventh inning, capped by a three-run homer by Julio Rodriguez. Gray entered the start having allowed two or fewer earned runs in six of his last eight starts, and he now owns a 3.62 ERA and 113:33 K:BB across 102 frames on the season.

Julio Rodríguez - Goes deep againRodriguez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Wednesday against the Rangers.

ImpactRodriguez powered the Mariners to victory in the seventh inning by tallying his 18th homer of the season. He's erased concerns over a wrist injury that cost him four games coming out of the All-Star break by homering in consecutive contests since his return. Rodriguez is continuing a very impressive rookie campaign and is now hitting .274/.337/.489 across 389 plate appearances.

Matt Festa - Picks up second saveFesta allowed a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Wednesday against the Rangers.

ImpactFesta tallied his second save of the season, both of which have come since July 16. Paul Sewald pitched on consecutive days so likely wasn't available and Erik Swanson was used in the eighth inning, opening the door for Festa. However, each of Sewald, Swanson and Diego Castillo has picked up saves since July 13, so it's difficult to pinpoint the current occupant of the closer role in Seattle.

ImpactGonzales allowed a run in two of his final three innings but still managed to turn in an excellent start. It was a needed effort, as he entered the outing having allowed 10 earned runs on 20 hits across his last 11.2 frames. Gonzales owns only a 4.8 K/9 on the season, so his results are likely to remain inconsistent. Overall, he has maintained a 3.66 ERA and a 60:36 K:BB.
