Chris Bassitt - Completes seven innings in win Bassitt (11-6) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on seven hits and three walks over seven innings against the Red Sox. He struck out six.
Impact With a solo home run by Triston Casas being the only damage the Red Sox could muster, Bassitt was able to strand the nine other baserunners allowed in his seven innings. The Blue Jays bats did the rest, providing plenty of offense to help Bassitt earn his 11th win of the season. Bassitt had a 5.63 ERA on the road prior to this outing, so perhaps this is a good sign moving forward. His home ERA is a sterling 2.56 and that's where he's projected to make his next start during next weekend's series with the Cubs.

Davis Schneider - Continues torrid start to career Schneider went 4-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 13-1 victory over the Red Sox.
Impact After forcing his way to the big leagues by hitting 21 homers with a .416 OBP in AAA, Schneider has begun his big-league career on a tear. The former 28th-round pick was moved up to third in the batting order in place of a resting Vladimir Guererro and delivered with four hits including his second home run. Schneider now has nine hits in his first 13 career at-bats for the Blue Jays to go along with those two homers and five RBI. While that pace is obviously unsustainable, the Blue Jays will find a way to consistently include him in their lineup provided he continues to produce.

Impact According to Zwelling, the Blue Jays hadn't ruled out the possibility of Bichette beginning a hitting progression Sunday if he bounced back well from Saturday's workout, though it's unclear whether he ended up swinging the bat to close out the weekend. In any case, Bichette appears to be responding well to treatment for the patellar tendinitis in his right knee, and while he remains without a clear timeline for a return, he seemingly has a chance at being activated from the IL shortly after he's first eligible Friday.

Impact Romano seems to be making good progress in his recovery from lower-back inflammation and looks like he'll have a chance at returning from the 15-day injured list when first eligible Aug. 13. While Romano has been sidelined, the Blue Jays have leaned on Erik Swanson (two saves) and Jordan Hicks (one save) in closing situations.
