Kevin Gausman - Eight innings in no-decision Gausman did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over eight innings during an 8-3 loss to the Orioles in extras. He struck out four.
Impact Gausman surrendered two runs in the third but was otherwise sharp while tying his season high with eight completed frames. The strong outing lowered his ERA from 3.27 to 3.14, and he sports an outstanding 81:11 K:BB through 63 innings despite tying his season low with four strikeouts Sunday. Aside from two terrible outings, Gausman has been extremely sharp this year and will look to keep up his strong play next time out, which is tentatively scheduled for the opener of a three-game set in Minnesota.

Impact The 28-year-old exited Saturday's contest with a right hamstring issue, but it doesn't appear to be a serious injury. Even if available, Espinal isn't guaranteed to rejoin the starting nine within the next couple days since Toronto's position players are otherwise healthy.

George Springer - Busy offensive day in loss Springer went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI, an additional run scored and one steal in Saturday's 6-5 loss to Baltimore.
Impact After going 0-for-2 in his first two at-bats, Springer launched a two-run home run in the fifth to tie the game at 2-2. He added an RBI single in the seventh, proceeded to steal second and later scored to extend Toronto's lead 5-2. It was Springer's ninth multi-hit game of the season, but he's still struggling overall and is slashing .234/.298/.349 with six home runs, 19 RBI and seven stolen bases across 44 games (191 plate appearances).

Daulton Varsho - Day off Sunday Varsho will sit Sunday versus the Orioles.
Impact Varsho will get a breather after he went 0-for-9 with three strikeouts over the first two games of the series. Nathan Lukes will replace him in left field and bat eighth in the series finale with Baltimore.

Alek Manoah - Five strikeouts in no-decision Manoah did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over 5.2 innings during a 6-5 loss to the Orioles. He struck out five.
Impact Manoah allowed two or fewer runs while completing at least five innings for the fifth time this season, but he still holds a 5.15 ERA and 1.74 WHIP due to a couple of poor outings. The right-hander's 40:33 K:BB over his first 10 starts (50.2 innings) is also worrisome after he posted a 180:51 K:BB over 196.2 innings last year. Either way, Saturday's outing was a step in the right direction, and Manoah will look to continue on that path in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for the finale of a four-game set in Tampa Bay.

Jordan Romano - Blows third save Romano blew the save in Saturday's 6-5 loss to Baltimore, allowing one run on three hits and zero walks while striking out one over one inning.
Impact Romano entered in the eighth inning with two runners on and a three-run lead. He proceeded to surrender a three-run home run to the first batter he faced -- Ryan O'Hearn -- but stayed in the game and recorded three outs before getting pulled in the ninth with a runner on first. Romano is now 10 for 13 in save chances this year and boasts a 3.32 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB over 20 appearances (19 innings). Despite the poor outing, Romano remains locked in as Toronto's go-to closer.
