Ryan Yarbrough - Works out of bullpen Sunday Yarbrough retired all three batters he faced but was charged with a blown save in Sunday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Yankees. Impact Though Kaitlin McGrath of The Athletic reported shortly after Yarbrough was acquired from the Dodgers on Tuesday that the left-hander would likely serve as a member of the Toronto rotation down the stretch, any appointment to a starting role looks as though it'll come later on in the season. Yarbrough has plenty of prior starting experience in the big leagues, but he had worked exclusively out of the bullpen this season with the Dodgers and hasn't recorded more than four outs in an appearance since the All-Star break, so he'll likely need more time to get stretched out before the Blue Jays turn to him in the rotation. In his team debut Sunday, Yarbrough was called upon to protected a 2-0 lead with no outs and runners at first and second, and while he was able to escape the sixth inning with no damage to his ERA, the Yankees successfully manufactured two runs to tie up the game. Jazz Chisholm and Anthony Volpe first executed a double steal, then came around to score on a fielder's choice and sacrifice fly, respectively.
