Impact During his three-day stint in the big leagues, Scott went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, and he'll now end up as the Cardinals' roster casualty as Luken Baker returns from paternity leave. Assuming he's played his final game in the majors this season, he'll finish his rookie season with a .179/.219/.283 slash line alongside 10 RBI through 155 plate appearances.

Impact Scott had started in center field in each of the last four contests and 10 of the lsat 11 games, but he appears headed for a steep downturn in playing time after manager Oliver Marmol said that Michael Siani -- who was activated from the injured list Sunday -- would see the "bulk of the time in center field" moving forward, per Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat. At least for the time being, the Cardinals will keep Scott in the fold in a bench role, where he prove to be a weapon in the late innings thanks to his speed on the basepaths. Scott has slashed .231/.268/.385 with two home runs, three stolen bases, seven RBI and five runs in 24 games since getting recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Aug. 4.

Impact The homer was the second of Scott's major-league career, both of which have come during his current stint with the Cardinals. He's shown some positives lately, going 6-for-17 (.353) with two steals and three extra-base hits over his last seven contests. Scott is slashing .150/.197/.265 with two homers, eight RBI, 10 runs scored and four steals over 122 plate appearances as a rookie this year.

Impact Scott wasn't able to build on his three-hit effort from Thursday, but he stole a base for the second game in a row. Speed is his biggest positive, though he's posted a .183 on-base percentage through 115 plate appearances in the majors this year, which is a big reason why he's been limited to four steals. He's been a bit better since his Aug. 4 call-up, slashing .208/.240/.333 over 15 games since he returned to the majors.

Impact Scott had gone 4-for-27 over his previous nine contests before putting together a strong effort from the bottom of the order in this game. His steal Thursday was his third of the campaign in 35 games, as his prolific speed (29 steals in 74 games with Triple-A Memphis) has been hampered by his trouble getting on base in the majors.
