Joan Adon - Struggles in season debut Adon (0-1) took the loss Saturday as the Nationals fell 5-0 to the Mets, giving up four runs on four hits and four walks over 4.1 innings while striking out three. Impact Making his second career start in the majors, Adon looked nervous, uncorking two wild pitches and plunking Starling Marte in addition to his free passes. Adon threw only 47 of 86 pitches for strikes but he probably wishes he'd gotten one less pitch over the plate, as Pete Alonso drove a fifth-inning fastball down the line for a grand slam. The Nationals don't have much in the way of rotation depth right now, so expect Adon to get more chances to show he belongs in the bigs. The right-hander at least gets a more favorable matchup on paper in his next scheduled start Thursday, on the road in Pittsburgh.
