Steve Cishek - Ejected in team debut Cishek was ejected from Friday's game against the Mets in the top of the fifth inning after he hit Francisco Lindor in the head with a pitch, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Impact Cishek entered Friday's matchup in the top of the fifth inning with no outs and a runner on second, and he hit Lindor with the second pitch he threw. That led to a scuffle on the field between the two teams, and the right-hander was tossed from the game since the Nationals also hit several batters during Thursday's Opening Day matchup. It's not yet clear whether the incident will lead to discipline from the league.

Patrick Corbin - Suffers Opening Day loss Corbin (0-1) tossed four innings against the Mets on Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four to take the loss.
Impact Corbin allowed the first two batters of the game to reach base but was able to get out of the first inning unscathed. He went on to keep the Mets off the scoreboard through four frames before faltering in the fifth, when he put the first four batters on base. That signaled the end of the left-hander's outing, but Victor Arano did a good job in relief to ensure that only one additional run crossed the plate. Despite Corbin's loss, fantasy managers taking a gamble on him shouldn't be entirely disappointed by the up-and-down appearance considering the career-worst 5.82 ERA he posted last season.
