Impact Flores went deep against Dodgers starter Alex Wood in the third inning. Through three games, Flores has gone 4-for-12 (.333) to start the year. The 28-year-old batted third in the order after being in the two-hole for the first two contests. He's likely to get regular playing time in the infield, mostly at second and third base, at least until Evan Longoria (oblique) returns.

Will start season on injured list Manager Gabe Kapler said Monday that Belt (heel) won't be ready for Opening Day, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Impact Belt had been dealing with right heel pain throughout camp, and Kapler confirmed Monday that the 32-year-old will begin the season on the injured list as he continues to recover. While he'll miss the first several games of the regular season, it remains to be seen exactly how much time he'll miss as a result of the injury. With Belt and Evan Longoria (oblique) sidelined, Wilmer Flores and Pablo Sandoval (elbow) could see an uptick in playing time to begin the year.

Impact The veteran third baseman injured his right oblique while swinging. Manager Gabe Kapler isn't certain Longoria or Brandon Belt (heel) will be ready for Opening Day. Pablo Sandoval and Wilmer Flores will likely see an uptick in playing time if either slugger is unable to play during the beginning of the season. Longoria had a rough spring, going just 5-for-25, and is coming off a .254/.325/.437 showing with 69 RBI across 508 plate appearances in 2019.
