Engine Failure Bowman suffered an engine failure and finished 37th in the Food City 500 NASAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
Impact Bowman would lead the opening 39 laps from the drop of the green flag but would then give way to Kyle Larson. He would race among the Top 10 until lap 300 when he'd radio in to his team with engine problems. Eventually, Bowman would take the No. 48 Chevrolet to the garage on lap 348 and retire for the afternoon with an engine failure. It was just his first DNF of the season.

Wins Bristol Pole Bowman won the pole for the Food City 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday. He turned a fast lap of 128.675 mph.
Impact Bowman found more pace over the afternoon's earlier practice and picked things up quite a bit in pole qualifying. The Hendrick Motorsports veteran beat out a very fast Ricky Stenhouse Jr. to claim pole position at Bristol Motor Speedway. It was his seventh-career pole position and second-career Bristol pole. Bowman will be a Top-5 threat in Sunday's Food City 500.
