Runner-up Finish at Martinsville Almirola finished second in the Xfinity 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Impact Almirola continued his strong recent performance at the Virginia short track with a great finish in the Xfinity 500. The Stewart Haas Racing veteran started 12th on the grid and rose to strength late. Almirola would lead 66 laps late in stage 3, but couldn't hold off the hard-charging Ryan Blaney. The No. 12 Ford would sail by for the lead with 22 laps to go, and Almirola would hang on for an impressive runner-up finish. It was his second Top 5 of the season.

Impact Almirola will call it quits after 16 years in the Cup Series, earning three wins and 95 top-10 finishes throughout his career.
