Crash and DNF at Homestead Briscoe crashed and finished 36th in the Dixie Vodka 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Impact Briscoe's championship hopes took a major hit Sunday at HMS. The Stewart Haas Racing youngster struggled in qualifying Saturday and he was struggling in the race Sunday. On lap 160 things would take a terrible turn. Briscoe lost control of his No. 14 Ford and slapped the turn 2 wall. He would take the car to the pit area and would be finished for the day with significant damage. The DNF drops him to eighth-place in the playoff standings and facing a must-win to advance scenario at Martinsville next weekend.

Impact Briscoe kept his championship hopes alive with a strong drive at the Vegas oval Sunday. The young driver came from 16th on the starting grid to break into the Top 5 late and lead 6 laps. However, Briscoe's time at the front would be brief and he'd see both Ross Chastain and Joey Logano get by in the closing laps. Kyle Busch would also drive past and Briscoe would settle into a strong fourth-place finish in Vegas. It was his fifth Top 5 of the season.
