Wins Clash in the Coliseum Hamlin won the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum Saturday night.
Impact Hamlin would start from the pole but get passed by Joey Logano by the time lap 1 was complete. The Joe Gibbs Racing star would fade to sixth-place by the halftime break. However, the green would wave again for the final 75 laps and Hamlin would be on the move. With 25 laps remaining, the driver of the No. 11 Toyota would be in third-place. Hamlin would use the closing laps to get around Ty Gibbs with eight laps to go and hold on for the win. It was his first victory in the L.A. Coliseum version of the Clash and fourth-career win in this pre-season exhibition event.

Awarded Clash Pole Hamlin will start from the pole for the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum Saturday night. Starting positions were determined by practice speeds.
Impact Impending rain and bad weather caused NASCAR to move up their season-opening exhibition race up one night. A lot of the format was also scrapped, including the qualifying heat races. Hamlin led the way in the lone practice session and was awarded the pole position by virtue of leading the practice. He'll start alongside Joey Logano in this 150-lap exhibition to start the NASCAR season.
