Not cleared for Michigan Busch (concussion) announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he has yet to be cleared and will not race in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan.

Impact Busch said that he continues to make improvements every day. This will be his third consecutive raced missed after a hard crash in qualifying at Pocono. Ty Gibbs will continue to take the wheel of the No. 45 Toyota Camry. Busch will remain playoff eligible as long as there are not more than two new winners in the final four races of the regular season. The veteran driver's next chance to return will come on Aug. 14 at Richmond.

Impact Busch will miss a second straight race due to concussion-like symptoms. Ty Gibbs will once again fill in for him in the No. 45 Toyota Camry. NASCAR has said that Busch will remain playoff eligible due to his win at Kansas. The more concerning part is how long Busch could potentially be out for. Including Indy on Sunday there are five more races before the NASCAR playoffs begin. As long as there is not more than two new winners in those races, Busch should be safe to make the playoffs.

Impact Busch met with doctors on Sunday morning and they determined that he was not ready to compete in the race at Pocono. In a Twitter post, Busch said that he was experiencing concussion-like symptoms following his qualifying accident. 23XI Racing has tabbed young phenom Ty Gibbs to step in and drive the No. 45 Toyota in Sunday's race. Gibbs is coming off a runner-up finish in the Xfinity Series race yesterday. Busch has been given a medical waiver to remain eligible for the playoffs via his Kansas win earlier this season. The veteran will hope to gain clearance for next week's race at the Indianapolis Road Course.

Big crash in qualifying Busch will start Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway from the rear after crashing in qualifying, Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports reports.

Impact Busch was trying to come to the green flag in qualifying with as much speed as possible, but just lost it and backed his car into the outside wall of turn three hard. Both 23XI cars showed a lot of speed in practice and qualifying, so Busch will hope his backup car for Sunday will be the same. With an official starting spot of 10th, that does reduce some of his upside for DFS players.
