Third at the ROVAL Busch finished third in the Bank of America ROVAL 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Impact Busch rallied back from some recent poor performances to register at great finish at the Charlotte ROVAL. The Joe Gibbs Racing star would start 20th on the grid and would have to use sound pit strategy and good racing to work his way forward. Busch would sit fifth-place on the final restart and he would charge past both Tyler Reddick and AJ Allmendinger over the final 2 laps to capture the strong third-place finish. It was his seventh Top 5 of the season and snapped a five-race Top-10 drought for the No. 18 Toyota team.

Eliminated from Playoffs Busch suffered an engine failure and finished 34th in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway Saturday night.

Impact Busch had battled his way inside the Top 5 in the first half of the race and looked well in position to advance in the Chase for the Cup playoffs. However, Busch's No. 18 began to cough smoke and send him to pit road for a look under the hood. The Joe Gibbs Racing star suffered an unfortunate engine failure and was retired for the night on lap 269. Busch would be eliminated from advancing into the Round of 12 as a result of his misfortune.
