Third in Pala Casino 400 Chastain finished third in the Pala Casino 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Auto Club Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Impact The Trackhouse Racing veteran shook off some of the tough luck he had on these two-mile ovals last season and turned in a dominant performance Sunday in Fontana. Chastain would take the lead by lap 18 and would barn storm the front from that point forward. The driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet would lead a race-high 91 laps and win the first two stages. However, Chastain would fade a bit late as Kyle Busch would surge, and would slip to third-place by the checkered flag.

Will make starts for Niece Motorsports Chastain will drive the No. 41 Chevrolet for Niece Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in select races in 2023, Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports reports.

Impact Chastain ran with Niece Motorsports full-time back in 2019 when he won three races. Since moving up to the Cup Series, Chastain has driven for the team in the Truck Series in a handful of races each year, including winning at Charlotte last season.
