Impact Chastain came from 25th on the starting grid and faced an uphill battle to beat out the other championship contenders. The Trackhouse Racing veteran would gradually work his way forward and get into the battle for the lead during stage 3. Chastain would have a near-miss with disaster on lap 200 when contact with Chase Elliott would spin the No. 9 Chevrolet, but Chastain would keep it under control. A hard charge in the closing laps would get him around Chase Briscoe for third-place. Chastain's 15th Top 5 of the season earned him runner-up in the championship points.
