Dominant in Daytona Duel Blaney finished third in the Bluegreen Vacations Duel 1 at Daytona International Speedway Thursday night. Impact Blaney would grab the lead from the drop of the green flag and dominate this 60-lap qualifying race up until green-flag pit stops. He would lose the lead to Penske teammate, Joey Logano, but settle in for the battle to the checkers in great track position. With 3 laps to go the challenges would start, and Blaney couldn't stay glued to Joey Logano with all the weaving and maneuvering. Christopher Bell would get past Blaney, but he would challenge him all the way to the finish line with a helping push from Chris Buescher. Blaney would get nipped at the line for a strong third-place finish. He will start the Daytona 500 in seventh-place Sunday afternoon.
