Eyeing post-break return Rose (ankle) said Sunday that he plans to return "very soon" following the All-Star break in mid-to-late February, Marc Berman of the New York Post reports. Impact Speaking to the media for the first time since being shut down after undergoing surgery Dec. 24 to remove a bone spur from his right ankle, Rose spoke positively about his recovery from the injury. The Knicks have yet to hone in on a precise timeline for Rose to return to the lineup, but the veteran guard could be ready to go as soon as the team's Feb. 25 matchup with the Heat if he's able to resume practicing without issue coming out of the All-Star break. Prior to developing the sore right ankle, Rose had appeared in 26 games with New York and averaged 12.0 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.4 three-pointers and 0.8 steals in 24.5 minutes while shooting 44.5 percent from the floor and 96.8 percent from the charity stripe. At this stage of his rehab, Rose has yet to resume running or taking part in any on-court work, but head coach Tom Thibodeau said Jan. 25 that the 33-year-old had been rehabbing in a pool, according to Berman.
