Impact After missing three straight games with a non-COVID-19-related illness, Valanciunas returned to his typical workload Monday. His production was up to par, as the big man averaged 17.8 points on 54.0 percent shooting across 11 games in January. Although Valanciunas is still shooting at a strong 41.7 clip from beyond the arc this season, that marked has dipped to 27.1 percent since the beginning of December.

Jaxson Hayes - Excellent in start Hayes contributed 19 points (9-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt), seven rebounds and three blocks over 31 minutes during Monday's 93-90 loss to Cleveland.
Impact Starting his first game of the season, Hayes was an efficient, two-way force, leading Pelicans starters with a plus-two in the box score. While it's unlikely that the starting combo of Hayes and Valanciunas is used often, a bump in Hayes' playing time is realistic as New Orleans falls deeper out of the playoff picture.
