Impact Though Lillard's 31 points led all scorers in Monday's contest, it was actually his second-lowest scoring output of the campaign. The superstar point guard has been a juggernaut on the offensive end thus far, tying for third in the league with 33.3 points per contest while shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from three-point range. With the Blazers off to 4-0 start, Lillard has emerged as a very early MVP candidate.

Anfernee Simons - Breaks through with 29 points Simons closed with 29 points (11-17 FG, 7-12 3Pt), three rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 36 minutes during Monday's 135-110 victory over Denver.
Impact Simons had been struggling coming into the contest, averaging 16.7 points but shooting just 33.9 percent from the field through three games. He found his shot Monday, knocking down 11 of 17 tries from the field, including seven triples. Most of his output came in a dynamic third quarter during which he racked up 22 points and six three-pointers. Simons has found the sledding a bit tough this season with Damian Lillard back in the fold and deservedly the centerpiece of the offense, but Monday's showing was a good reminder of Simons' prowess on the offensive end when he's at his best.

Impact Johnson was called upon for the first time this season. The undefeated Trail Blazers have flexed starpower and impressive depth alike en route to a 4-0 record to start the season. Johnson averaged 9.7 points, 2.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 25.5 minutes per game for the Trail Blazers in his 2021-22 rookie campaign, but he's far down the totem pole in Portland currently.

Impact Grant drove around LeBron James and made a layup with 3.0 seconds left to give Portland the lead for good Sunday. It was just his second basket of the second half as 12 of his 16 points came in the first two periods. The 28-year-old is averaging 15.7 points per game and is 6-for-8 from beyond the arc through the season's first three contests. He averaged 16.1 shots per game over the last two seasons in Detroit but has received fewer chances so far this year for Portland, averaging only 9.7 attempts.

The 32-year-old has scored 41 points in consecutive games and is averaging 34.0 points while making 47.1 percent of his shot attempts and 36.4 percent of his three-point tries in the season's first three games.
