Eric Bledsoe - Will not be bought out Bledsoe (Achilles) is expected to remain with the Trail Blazers for the rest of the season and will not be bought out, Sean Highkin of BleacherReport.com reports.
Impact Bledsoe picked up a mysterious Achilles injury after being traded to the Trail Blazers, and the thought was he might be on the move again before the deadline. However, he remained with the team when the deadline passed, and he'll apparently be with the team for the rest of the season. Bledsoe will presumably be vying for backup point guard minutes with Dennis Smith.

Dennis Smith Jr. - Drops 11 dimes in win Smith finished Wednesday's 107-105 win over the Lakers with seven points (3-5 FG, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, 11 assists and six steals in 22 minutes.
Impact Smith was the assist magnet in the surprising win, and he proved to be more effective than Ben McLemore in the backcourt as a ball distributor. The line differential between Smith and Anfernee Simons is intriguing because the split could be a portent of things to come. Simons continued to thrive without a big assist number, making him the heir apparent to CJ McCollum when Damian Lillard (abdomen) returns to take over the point position.

Jusuf Nurkic - Double-doubles in victory Nurkic logged 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-5 FT), 12 rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 107-105 victory over the Lakers.
Impact Nurkic delivered against the Lakers, and if he stays in a Portland uniform, he'll be essential to the team's effort to stay afloat. Trade rumors about Nurkic have persisted despite Portland's very active trade window, but he is a source of assured production wherever he ends up.

Impact Few expected Portland to prevail in this game, especially amid the fire sale occurring in the front office. Nevertheless, the Blazers were tenacious and prevailed, led by Simons' excellent shooting night. Simons' role should prove to be interesting when Damian Lillard (abdomen) is healthy, as CJ McCollum's departure will require one of them to serve as the off-guard. At least for now, Simons will remain Portland's best assist source.
