Impact The Spurs have provided little in the way of updates on the big man, who hasn't played in an NBA game since August 2020. A series of injuries -- most recently, surgery on his left ankle -- has derailed Collins' career, but he looks like he's finally moving in the right direction. Presumably, he'll play in multiple G League games before making his Spurs debut, which could conceivably come before the end of the month. The 2017 lottery pick signed a three-year, $22 million deal with the Spurs in free agency this past summer. In four seasons with Portland, Collins appeared in 66, 77, 11 and 0 games, respectively.
