Finished serving suspension Muhammad had his suspension lifted Wednesday for violating the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing substances, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Impact Muhammed was suspended for six games, dating back to last December. The 29-year-old joined the Cowboys on Aug. 1 but was later released on Aug. 29 ahead of their season opener against the Browns. It wouldn't be surprising if he ended up back in Dallas now that he is eligible to play, but he may have other opportunities as well.

Impact Muhammad was brought in by the Cowboys in early August to add depth to the defensive line after Sam Williams suffered a season-ending ACL tear. Muhammad is now free to explore his next options, though if he were to catch on with another team, he would have to miss the first game with that organization as he finishes serving a six-game suspension that was handed down in December for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Muhammad should be able to provide some depth along the defensive front for Dallas beginning in Week 2, assuming he's still on the roster.

Disappointing season Muhammad recorded two tackles in the Bears' 29-13 loss to the Vikings in Week 18, and ended the season with 29 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble over 17 games played.

Impact Muhammad had his least productive season since 2018 after joining the Bears in free agency. He played in an even timeshare with Trevis Gipson and both players posted similar production, so neither was able to earn a larger role. Muhammad should play in a similar role going forward, as he's under contract with the team through the 2023 season.
