The Jets signed Lamarcus Joyner this offseason, but Hughes believes that Davis has the edge in the safety competition. If Davis is able to earn the starting job outright, the 24-year-old could provide some IDP value.

The rookie safety has blossomed nicely since returning from an early-season groin injury, as Davis has played 100 percent of defensive snaps in each of the last two games while displaying a nice combination of coverage ability and physicality.
