Gets first RB touch Saturday Robinson rushed three times for 22 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game in the Commanders' 13-6 preseason loss to the Dolphins on Saturday night.

Impact Robinson logged the Commanders' first touch from scrimmage, which went for no gain, but he proceeded to rattle off a pair of 11-yard runs on consecutive plays to open Washington's second possession. Robinson's night was done after that drive, but he operated as the clear No. 1 back as expected during his time in the game. Robinson will have one more chance to prepare for the regular season in the preseason finale at home against the Patriots on Aug. 25.

Impact Robinson and Austin Ekeler (two carries for seven yards) both mixed in on the opening drive, which was the only drive that rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels played. Daniels capped that possession with a three-yard touchdown run. Robinson faces increased competition for touches from Ekeler, and Daniels is also a threat to vulture goal-line rushing looks after scoring 21 rushing TDs in his last two years at LSU, but the ceiling for Washington's entire offense is far higher with Daniels at the helm than it was with Sam Howell under center last season. Washington's first-team offense could see more playing time in next Saturday's preseason game against the Dolphins.

Kingsbury also said that he doesn't think Ekeler's 2023 struggles with the Chargers were due to physical decline, noting that the 29-year-old "hasn't lost a step" and is "as fast and as strong as I've seen him."
