Impact Mooney is working his way back from the season-ending surgery he underwent to repair a fractured left ankle, an injury he sustained in the Bears' Week 12 loss to the Jets. Before getting hurt, the third-year wideout was the top target for quarterback Justin Fields, hauling in 40 passes for 493 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games. The Bears are likely to address their receiving group through the draft, free agency and/or the trade market this offseason, but Mooney should be locked into a starting role regardless of what additions Chicago makes.

Chase Allen - Staying in Chicago The Bears signed Allen to a reserve/future contract Monday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.

Impact Allen joined the Bears as an undrafted free agent back in May of 2022, where he eventually spent all but one game of this past campaign on the team's practice squad. The 25-year-old is now slated to remain with Chicago throughout the offseason and compete for a spot on the Bears' active roster next year.

Jake Tonges - Sticking around in Chicago The Bears signed Tonges to a reserve/future contract Monday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.

Impact Tonges opened the regular season as one of two fullbacks on Chicago's active roster, and he appeared in three of the team's first four games before being waived heading into Week 10. He then signed with the team's practice squad shortly thereafter, and he was elevated for the Week 15 loss to Philadelphia. Tonges finished the 2022 season with one target while playing 16 of his 26 snaps on offense, so he'll likely compete for a similar depth/special-teams role during this offseason.

Nsimba Webster - Staying in Chicago The Bears signed Webster to a reserve/future contract Monday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.

Impact Webster was waived as part of Chicago's final roster cuts in late August before quickly re-joining via the practice squad. The fourth-year wideout then remained idle on the practice squad before being elevated in back-to-back games Week 15 and 16, recording the first two receptions of his career over during this span. Webster has now appeared in eight games over the past two seasons for the Bears, and he'll likely compete for another depth and special-teams role heading into the 2023 season.

Impact Johnson (finger/ribs) was placed on injured reserve after Week 15 and played 11 games. He failed to intercept a pass, and he has just one pick during his three years in the league. As a tackler, he averaged three per game, though his game-to-game production was inconsistent. Unless his situation changes next year, he'll be a moderate-floor, low-upside IDP option. He's under contract with the team through the 2023 season.

Cairo Santos - Another season of high accuracy Santos converted an extra point in the Bears' 29-13 loss to the Vikings in Week 18, and ended the season with 90 points over 16 games played.

Impact Santos has been extremely accurate in his three years with the Bears, and he was over 90 percent accurate on his field-goal attempts this season. The problem for fantasy is the Bears offense. He averaged well less than two field-goal attempts per game, and he hasn't averaged more than two attempts in any of his three years with the team. Unless the Bears offense makes a significant jump in 2023, his volume will make him tough to roster as a primary option in 12-team fantasy leagues. He's under contract through 2025.
