Impact Carson played just four games this season before suffering a neck injury, which he attempted to return from before undergoing season-ending surgery in November. Carroll is notoriously optimistic about his player's injuries, and neck injuries tend to be tricky, so we should take his report with a grain of salt. If Carson does return for training camp, he may have to settle for a backup role to Rashaad Penny, who rushed for 671 yards (7.3 YPC) and six touchdowns over the final five games this season.
